The Boujie Boonie Salon Policies
Appointment time
Please be on time for your appointment. Even ten minutes late can set us behind on our schedule for the day. If anything comes up please communicate with us so we are aware. However, we may need to reschedule the appointment to stay on track with our other clients.
No Show/Late Cancellation
A fee of 50% the intended groom may be charged for a client who does not show up or who cancels within 24 hours of the intended appointment. This fee must be paid before scheduling the next appointment with us, or we can add it onto your next appointment.
Late pick up
To keep the salon as low stress and calm as possible we ask that your dog is picked up within one hour of being notified they are finished. If you know you will not be able to pick up within that time frame please let us know ahead of time. For dogs not picked up before closing time, there may be a late pick up fee.
Unfinished Grooms
Dogs who are stressed or uncooperative to the point where the groomer decides it is unsafe to continue will be sent home unfinished. We value humanity over vanity, and will not force dogs past their limits. Cost of the service will be charged at pick up.
Matted Dogs
Dogs who are matted will be shaved and a matting fee will be applied. Matting is often painful, uncomfortable, and must be shaved before the bath so we can properly cleanse their skin. A preshave on a dirty matted dog means our blades wear down faster than the typical wear and tear with clean dry hair. Shaving off matted hair can also expose skin conditions such as sores or hematomas. The Boujie Boonie will not be responsible for skin conditions that are exposed after a matted shavedown.
Flea/Tick
We highly recommend your dog be on an oral preventative as this is the best and most effective option for dogs on Guam. However, if live ticks and/or fleas are found on your dog we will automatically bathe them with flea and tick treatment and remove them to the best of our ability with an additional cost. If the infestation is severe we will have to send the dog home and full service price will be charged.
Surgeries
We will not groom dogs who have had surgery within the past two weeks, depending on the type of surgery and healing time. Surgery such as a neuter/spay is a two week wait time, whereas a more complex surgery will need vet clearance for an appointment.
Medical conditions
Certain medical conditions may need vet clearance before coming to your appointment.
Pregnant Dogs
Grooming can be a stressful experience for dogs, which may cause problems with a pregnant female. We will not accept pregnant females who are far enough along to show a pregnant belly.
Puppies
Puppies may be groomed as early as 12 weeks old with vet clearance. Due to the large risk of parvovirus on Guam we recommend puppies do not go outside or touch the ground before they receive all of their puppy vaccinations which is around 16 weeks. Puppies should start as soon as possible with grooming appointments so we can teach them how to behave, especially because the groomer will be a big part of their life if they require frequent hair cuts. Let’s set them up for success!
